The Devil saw me with my head down,
and thought he had won...
Until I said AMEN!!!
“Rudeness is the weak man's imitation of strength.”
“It is a wise thing to be polite; consequently, it is a stupid thing to be rude. To make enemies by unnecessary and willful incivility, is just as insane a proceeding as to set your house on fire. For politeness is like a counter--an avowedly false coin, with which it is foolish to be stingy.”
“No one is more insufferable than he who lacks basic courtesy.”
“If you are rude, cynical, habitually-sarcastic or pessimistic, your life options are going to be very limited.”
“Do not be threatened by rude people, because rudeness is a sign of insecurity.”

Rules Of Warfare
Rules of Warfare
#1: HAVE FUN!
This is just a game.
Nobody really dies when a clearing force ransacks your town. Your value as a person does not depend on how many villages you have. Points are largely irrelevant. When it comes down to it, it's all just ones and zeros.
So... R e l a a a a a a a a x.
#2: EAT. SLEEP.
You might feel like you need to be at the computer 24/7 to defend your empire from the invading hordes, but if you tie yourself to the game, your Real Life will suffer. And when your Real Life suffers, your game suffers. And sometimes, after days of hardly eating, and setting alarms to dodge 3am attacks, you suddenly realize it's just not worth it anymore, and you quit.
So just don't play the game that way. Give it the time you can afford to give it. Remember to eat and sleep (and go out on dates with your girlfriend/wife, too!).
Even 1000+ incomings is manageable on a full belly and a fresh mind.
#3: HELP your Tribe mates
I have heard it said that good players rarely have more than 10% of their defensive troops in their own villages. That's because they have learned that the most important thing in Tribal Wars is the Tribe. Sure, you might not want to leave yourself open to attack... but if the enemy destroys his troops against your neighbour's walls, he won't have anything left to send at you, afterwards. And if you support your tribe, they will support you.
Same thing goes for attacking. Your clearing forces are useless if they're just sitting inside your walls. Coordinate with some people, and send them out after the enemy. Send fakes, too, whenever you have time. Just a few clicks a day can mean so much to the people fighting the war on the front lines.
#4: The enemy is Human, too.
Treat them with respect.
Feel free to mail them, in fact, to congratulate them on taking one of your villages, or on a good snipe. Don't spam them with threats or foul language... not only can it get you banned, but it's not worthy of you as a player.
Instead, get to know your opponent. Make friends. You never know when a truce will be called, and you may suddenly find yourselves fighting on the same side against a mutual enemy.
#5: Stick to it!
It might look bleak in the middle of a war, but you never know what's around the corner. Even now, forces may be working together to undermine your enemy. The enemy may present a united front to you, but inside, they are dealing with the same problems of inactivity and divisions in the ranks that everyone else is.
Even if all you do is log on everyday, queue your troops, build a building and send support to tribe mates... that's enough to get by on.
Don't break. Don't bail. Don't quit.
The enemy isn't really the other tribe, when it comes down to it. The enemy is inactivity. not the settings :)

Toishmaster-The drunk:
The path of the drunk man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of Sober men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, drinks the beer through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's wingman and the drinker of scotch. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and drunken fury those who attempt to poison and sober my brothers. And you will know my name is the drunk when I lay my vengeance upon thee.
